The normal program starts at 7 pm with a tasteful dinner in the community.
If available, we may start at 5 pm with the hatchling release activity (recommended for families with young children).
Otherwise, the usual program is as follow : meet for dinner at 7 pm, get a general presentation of the sea turtles conservation program and its importance for the ecosystem, meet with NGO staff, and finish the presentation at the incubation center.
Then we´ll go to a northern beach to start the night patrol, meeting with eco-guards, and waiting for sea turtles to come off shore to lay their eggs.
Our partner "Programa Tatô" is in charge of the monitoring of the whole island of São Tomé. Under its supervision, we lead this activity in the northern area of the island (all beaches in the surrounding of Morro Peixe, Fernão Dias and Micólo villages).
We work in a close partnership with Programa Tatô, our guides have been trained and certified, and part of the money collected is used to funding the conservation activities.
Note that the activity last about 5 hours, so there are 2 options:
Family pack: 5 pm to 10 pm
Night pack : 7 pm to 12 pm
