Palace of Carlos V It was ordered to be built by Emperor Carlos V. Created to act as a prelude to the Nasrid Palaces. Its imposing Renaissance style stands out in the middle of the Nasrid palatine city. It was built by Pedro de Machuca, who trained in Italy with names like Michelangelo and Raphael. Upon his death, his son Luis de Machuca continued with the works. The peculiarity of this palace is that it is circular on the inside and square on the outside. It has a total of 64 columns, for its construction it was necessary to open a door (the Puerta de los Carros) in the Arab wall, to introduce the columns and materials.
