We meet outside the Acropolis Metro Station. If arriving by metro, take the Makrygianni /Dionysiou Arepaghitou exit. Please go up to the street level and find the sign for “Akropoli.” Your guide will there be holding a sign with your names on it.

Enjoy Athens as it was at its highest peak, during the golden age of Perikles.

Here you can enjoy the views over the city and all the way to the Aegean Sea. Follow your guide on a different route towards the south exit so that you also see the Altar of Asclepius and the Theater of Dionysus, the birthplace of theater drama.

Temple of Athena Nike Discover the temples on the north side of the Acropolis that most visitors miss out on. Take a break after you walk through the temples that primarily housed the earlier Athenian cults and those of the Olympian gods.

Acropolis Museum Continue to the Acropolis Museum for the second part of the tour. Explore the stunning glass floors, under which see the excavations, and follow your guide as they point out treasures from the ancient Greek civilization. See original pieces from the temples in Acropolis, and learn about their historical context from your guide. Ask your guide about the impressive Elgin Marbles in the Parthenon Gallery. Finish your guided tour in The Archaic Gallery, which houses statues that predate the Acropolis! After your guided tour, you have the option to stay in the museum and continue exploring, or enjoy the views over the city. Or you can head up to the Acropolis and visit its famous Museum Cafe.
