LAGO AGRIO - PINK DOLPHINS, MONKEYS, SLOTHS AND MORE

Parque Ecologico y Recreativo Lago Agrio Perla Today your amazon adventure starts in Lago Agrio very early in the morning. You will get picked up with the bus that will take you towards the entrance of the Cuyabeno Reserve (± 2.5 hour ride). Here lunch will be served. After lunch, you will embark on a motor-powered canoe to go down the Cuyabeno River. Be ready to hear the sounds of the jungle, while you watch the scenery changing along the waters and between trees. In this boat trip you will be able to watch the birds, monkeys, sloths and other jungle creatures, accompanied by a guide who will provide information on how the animals and plants interact within the Cuyabeno Ecosystem. Try to spot the pink water dolphins! Upon your arrival, you will have time to settle in one of the cabins and relax. In the evening you will enjoy a delicious welcoming dinner and then your native guide will give a briefing about the activities of the next days of your amazon experience.

FASCINATING SUNRISE, LAGUNAS, SUNSET AND A NIGHT EXCURSION IN THE JUNGLE

Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve Rise and shine! Enjoy the sounds of the jungle around you while waking up in your cabin. Woke up early? Lucky you! A fascinating sunrise can be watched from the front steps of the lodge. After breakfast, it is time to go upriver where you can see different species of plants, huge trees, aquatic vines, orchids, medicinal herbs and a large number of animals and birds of the Amazon. After lunch, you will go to Laguna Grande where you can swim and relax, here the sunsets are a marvelous experience! Are you ready for another exciting experience? After dinner, you will go on a night excursion in the jungle. During the canoe ride, you will be able to see the black caimans and listen to the mysterious sounds of the jungle.

AMAZONIAN CULTURE, COMMUNITY, SHAMAN

Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve After you enjoyed your breakfast, you will visit a community project, the Siona Indigenous Community. You’ll be immersed in their Amazon culture and learn about their way of life, traditions, culture and customs. Gather cassava and turn it into cassava bread, to enjoy during lunch with the community. Observe the Sumaúma tree which is approximately 100 years of age. The Sumaúma tree is recognized as the Amazon’s largest tree in both height and diameter, reaching up to 40 meters (130 ft). Visit the Shaman after lunch, he will explain you all about their spiritual world, channeling of energies, visionary, healing and divinatory skills. You will also have time to acquire the beautiful handicrafts made by the locals. You return to the lodge for dinner, paddling at night under the stars. On the way you’ll see caimans, night birds, night monkeys and maybe even a boa. For the visit to the community and the Shaman, a contribution of 5 USD per person needs to be paid to the Siona Indigenous Community and 5 USD for the yuca bread.

EARLY MORNING SPECIES SEARCH

Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve Early in the morning, before breakfast, you’ll have one last chance for a surprising fauna encounter. Animals tend to get very active early in the morning: monkeys, toucans, sloths, dolphins, giant otters... every day is different. After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to the Jungle. The canoe will take you to the bridge where you will enjoy lunch. Upon your arrival to Lago Agrio, you will be dropped off at the Lago Agrio Airport/Bus Terminal; where you can catch your transportation to your next destination
