Malibu is a beach city in Los Angeles County, California. It is situated 30 miles west of Downtown Los Angeles. Incorporated in 1991, the city is famous for its warm climate and a 21-mile coastline with many sandy beaches. The area is also known for being the home of Hollywood movie stars and other people in the entertainment industry together with generally affluent residents. Signs around the city proclaim "27 miles of scenic beauty", referring to the historical 27-mile Malibu coast spanning from Point Mugu in Ventura County east to Tuna Canyon.
