Old Faithful

Old Faithful is a cone geyser located in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, United States. Old Faithful was named in 1870 during the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition and was the first geyser in the park to receive a name.It is one of the most predictable geographical features on Earth, erupting every 35 to 120 minutes. The geyser, as well as the nearby Old Faithful Inn, is part of the Old Faithful Historic District.

Go in the winter. The summertime is very busy. Old Faithful does not disappoint and there are lots of attractions, food options, and helpful rangers in the downtime. Traffic can be hectic as can parking. Go during the off-season.

Yellowstone is know for the thermal activity. Old Faithful is a big geyser that is worth the drive. Large parking area for cars and campers. Dogs are allowed, but make sure to check the website where they can go and where not. You can visit the geyser with your dog, but you may have to sit back a little, as you are not allowed to sit on the benches with your dog. Don't worry, you can sit about 15 meters back on one of the fallen trees. Your view will be just as impressive. There are also trails to hike on, but I don't think that they are dog friendly due to the thermal activity of the water.
