I will admit I went to the zoo the other day with an open mind. I left disappointed. ,I have not been to the Dallas zoo in about 6 years I went this time because I have heard so many positive things The staff members were all very friendly and out going My favorite thing to see at the zoo are the big cats and I love to take pictures of them The cheetah and the lions were behind glass There was a single tiger in a caged area about 15 feet below the walkway Far to many cage enclosures which make photo ops difficult As far as the DFW area the Fort Worth zoo is a better experience

Fantastic and well informed employees. Animals are apparently taken care of in an appropriate manner. Conservation efforts are well posted. Education materials are easily available. Walk ways are clean. Bathrooms are well maintained. A bit expensive but as expected per requirements for animal care.

First time to this zoo. Got there at open and was greeted at every turn by staff offering hellos. Went first to the African wilds and was greeted at the elephant paddock by a very chatty older staff lady. She spoke about the elephants as if she were very familiar with them, offering a great amount of insight to the project and readily answered any questions. Came back later to see if the elephants had come out and watched them a while, chatted with the lady again about the tech used to track and monitor each one's activity. Pretty neat stuff. Interested to see the new hippo exhibit when completed and was disappointed that there was no aquarium feature. I am not a zoo person much so I am not sure if it merits that kind of attraction. Overall it was a good two hour excursion.

Great fun for all. We hadn't been to either Ft. Worth or Dallas Zoo but had heard the Dallas Zoo is more compact requiring less walking for our 4 year old. We loved it. Feeding and touching the giraffe's was definitely a highlight but he loved seeing the big cats up close too. We'll surely be back.
