Very nice place. Educational. A good variety of snakes, a few birds. A very old fresh water snapping turtle, older than the civil war. Live feedings on Saturday and Sunday around 3pm. My kids and I have a good time every time we go. PS.... It's warm inside

There are many different species of snakes, a few parrots and several other large reptiles. If you spend time reading all of the information about every species, it will take a couple of hours to cover everything. The snakes were very active and there were two feedings during our visit. Your ticket is good for 5 days, which is a nice bonus.

One of the more interesting and spectacular attractions located in historic downtown Wilmington. The Cape Fear Serpentarium comes together as both a mixture of a hallmark institution to the field of herpetology as well as a must see on any tourist's list of Wilmington attractions. 9 dollars admission for a first hand up close encounter with some of the world's deadliest snakes, man eating crocodiles and powerful constricting snakes. Followed up is both a knowledgeable and experienced staff. Many of whom are 20 plus year veterans to both exotic reptile and animal husbandry. Who will be more then willing to entertain any questions you may have while at the facility. With ever expanding display of animals guests who make this a yearly stop will be delighted with each new animal species placed on exhibit. For the more adventurous crowd I suggest paying a visit on Saturday and Sunday afternoon during their 3 o'clock feeding shows. A rare treat for anyone wanting to see these animal's hunting behavior up close.

Awesome exhibits, friendly and entertaining staff. Live feeding was awesome. Man up front was nice, I don't understand the negative reviews. The only complaint I had: those 2 turtles need larger exhibits. That was a bit depressing, barely enough room to live and move. Sad. But the snake exhibits were plenty big and really pretty. Birds looked healthy and happy. The reticulated python feeding was one of the coolest things I've ever seen at a zoo type attraction. The staff does an amazing job keeping the tanks clean and the facility was quite nice.
