Clearly a cozy "locals" place. Decent atmosphere and good beer with a "gritty" feel to the place. Staff was fine but having an old woman walk through the bar shaking people down for "tips for the band" was not appreciated. Especially when she very aggressively and rudely lectured our group after we told her we didn't carry cash, that you "HAVE to bring cash to a place like this to tip the band, otherwise you shouldn't come in and listen to music." #1 if the band isn't getting paid enough to play there, that's between the band and the bar. They shouldn't shake down the customers to supplement their income. #2 if the band is that good but the bar can't afford them, charge a cover. #3 I will NEVER "tip" a band. Really? Tip the band??? Ridiculous. Definitely soured everyone's opinion of the place because of the extortion and lecture.

When I went it was an older crowd but I enjoyed the calm atmosphere. Regular entertainment with an old pub feel.

This place would have gotten way more stars if they stayed open until 2 like the rest of the bars. They kick you out EARLY.. and it's not even enough time to find a new bar to have a good time. The service was okay. Bathroom is dirty. No TP. The music was decent.. Drinks were nothing to write about... needs ALOT of work.
