Wow! You can spend all day here. Definitely a jewel in Chicago. Bring a refillable water bottle if you go in summer. There are places to fill them.

Let's be honest, most people come here for the Cloud Gate aka "The Bean" . It's nice. People love to take selfies in it. It's fun for everyone. The pavilion is nice looking, but they rope off the grass which is unfortunate. I would love if we were able to just go sit in the grass. Why wouldn't you use it? When it's warm, the fountains are a great way to cool off even though I personally find the faces a bit disconcerting. If you are visiting the city, I would definitely take some time to come here.
