I'm supposed to be a "preferred member" but made a reservation for a large SUV a week ago, show up this morning and they don't have one, instead offer me a car, if I needed a car I would have reserved a car. Gonna have to switch

I also had a very poor experience here yesterday. I understand that the mighty Fayetteville Airport is very busy, however waiting for 20 min to get to the desk was almost ok... Once at the desk the used car tactics for upgrading my vehicle using sticky notes to give the the "best deal" when I clearly stated that I didn't want to upgrade more than once. Then once she begrudgingly agreed to give me the car I asked for the intense pressure for insurance even after again saying multiple times that between my company and my personal insurance I didn't need anything that they had to offer she again very begrudgingly agreed to let it go. You might think that would be all, but no. I was then offered a GPS I said no thank you I have a smart phone, again the sales tactics I had to refuse more than once again. Finally the paperwork!! hooray it's done right?! Nope apparently I was wrong again. I was told to go wait by the curb and the car would be pulled around for me. I watched the guy she handed the keys walk in to the parking lot not more than 50ft away and get in the car and drive out to bring it around. I know that this loop is about a 1/4 mile so it shouldn't take too long. After 15 min of waiting, I walk back in to ask just where my car might be. I was given a look of shock as to why I was still there. I walk back outside and wait another 15 min. I then walk in and this time the lady says she will try to call the guy again who didn't answer the first time. I continue to wait another 15 min and some where in that 15 she decided to "go look for my car" it finally showed up. Apparently it had been washed waxed detailed driven to Raleigh and back... Car jacked I don't know. But the whole situation was very frustrating, not real help or genuine concern was given. I have never rented from AVIS and I doubt I will ever rent from them again. Poorly done AVIS poorly done.
