Margaret Mitchell House

The Margaret Mitchell House is a historic house museum located in Atlanta. The structure was the home of author Margaret Mitchell. It was known as the Crescent Apartments when Mitchell and her husband lived in Apt. 1 on the ground floor from 1925 to 1932. While living there, Mitchell wrote the bulk of her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Gone with the Wind.The house also contains a visitor center, and a portion of the museum is wholly devoted to the making of the 1939 film based on the book.



The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is also designated as a historic building by the City of Atlanta.

I love gone with the wind...I was very excited about visiting the Margret Mitchell House the tour guide was very knowledgeable but all my wife kept talking about how clean the museum was,,, she asked the sodexo employee ( James ) how did he get the windows so clean ... lol he was very pleasant will be back again !

Very nice little museum. Has a lot of stuff about her and Gone With the Wind, of course, but also has a lot of local history that I found even more fascinating.
