My most recent experience was abysmal, the restaurant has clearly gone downhill since my last visit. The breakfast menu was all of the same with a few new additions seemingly designed by someone without a palette. The buffet was a disaster with a mess of dried out food and canned fruit and the floor was so sticky it was trying to steal my shoe. Even the coffee could not save this experience as it was watered down and tasteless.

Home made pasta, great staff, great views

Homemade pasta was not up to standard, meatballs were unimpressive, drinks were nothing to brag about. The cost was not fitting to the standard of the Jasper Park Lodge and did not meet any of my expectations. Service was adequate. I left my feedback with the Jasper Park Lodge and was told I would be contacted within a few days and have not heard anything for a month. I did not want anything in return but just wanted to make management aware. I am not the type to complain but thought I should share.

We had breakfast here while seated by the window with a breathtaking view of the lake and mountains. We skipped the buffet (which did look amazing) and ordered off the menu. I had the healthy start, this consisted of two poached eggs over market fresh grilled asparagus, red pepper, spinach and crispy oven baked potatoes. My Husband had the omelette that came with a side of the same crispy potatoes. Others in our party ordered the cinnamon roll french toast and they described it as the best french toast they had ever eaten. Coffee was good, OJ fresh squeezed and service was attentive.

Exellent experience and service in here. Jordan is nice and polite. He always intro to us the great food. The restaurant serve Italian food and the grill and the noodle are great. Don't forget to try the cheese cake!

Service was somewhat cold. For the prices we paid it was very disappointing. We started with the caprese salad, which was fine. Had better. I had the rabbit which was okay but the dish was very one dimensional. My wife had the scallops with lamb polenta (still looking for the lamb). We paid $47 for her dish when similar dishes elsewhere are more in the $30 range. My parents shared a Caesar salad and the chicken dish. My dad's comment was that the chicken at a food court is better. Again, just a piece of chicken with a couple potatoes and a sauce that didn't taste very good. There was very little flavour throughout the dish. No wonder the restaurant only had a few people in it. There are numerous options in and around Jasper that are more affordable and a much better experience as a whole. We left Orso feeling like we paid for the name; since it is in the Fairmont Resort. Definitely won't be back.
