NC Governor's official residence. Impressive and stately place in Queen Anne style architecture.

Christmas is an amazing time to visit and walk through the governor's mansion

I went with several other women to what management promised was a great spot to lunch and chat with the Governor about his awesome campaign promise not to restrict access to safe and legal abortion. Unfortunately, it seems that the current administrators of this mansion went back on their word and have restricted access to all kinds of healthcare for women, and all state and municipal employees! When we tried to express our concerns (and get lunch!), the owner instead just brought us a plate of stale cookies that tasted like they were baked in the 1950s. The least yummy, or sincere, cookies I've ever seen...because of course I didn't eat them. Broken promises + coal ash in the water = not good baking materials.

Let me say this about your customer service: I received a ""DO NOT DRINK THE WATER LETTER"" from our state almost a YEAR AGO but NOTHING from you as my Governor. Seems that you continue providing support for Duke Energy and NOT the people of our state. We, people living around the coal ash pits, NEED protection and have been BEGGING over a year now as private people continue to seek answers from our state. I can only give you a one star as people here in Dukeville, home of the Buck Stream Station, continue to FEAR our water each day. We use bottled water everyday for COOKING and DRINKING. Been hard on me as I am handicap and those water bottles are heavy when I carry more than one at a time. No star would be better. DO YOUR JOB AND PROTECT THE PEOPLE OF NC. Protect our waterways and groundwater. When you protect children, you protect us all. You claim you provide customer service to the people of our state, but WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? Having dinner?
