Adults probably only want to go to this to kill some time or with their kids. The reconstructions of houses, workshops, and drug store were nice. Straight up propaganda in the war room on the top floor (it wasn't labeled propaganda)

Great museum. They have taken great care to share US and NC history. They have fantastic use of artifacts and information that may not be widely known. It's well worth a visit and a great place for adults and children.

Such a cool museum if you or your kids are into history. A wonderful trip back in time showcasing North Carolina through the good times and the bad. Exhibits both children and adults can enjoy.

Great free museum for first time folks coming to the capitol of North Carolina. Has interesting exhibits specific to the State. Combining it with the also free Museum of Natural History next door makes for a great time out with the family. The things I don't like about the museum include: exhibits focus on the glory of the South and downplay the role of slavery. The permanent exhibit on guns combined with the glories of war are propaganda. The museum often brings in exhibits that require an additional fee.
