Nye's Polonaise Room

Funky place in which "the world's most dangerous polka band" lets loose every weekend. It first opened in 1950 and still operates.

This place was an institution in Minnesota. Great food awesome atmosphere unfortunately after all the years of being open they were forced to close.

I've only visited twice and last weekend we tried to come up but couldn't make it work. I'm sad I can't visit one last time and take pictures. The restaurant was the same age as my dad who grew up in NE and it's one of the last memories I have of my dad who passed away a decade ago. PS, to the owners. It would be awesome if you would sell some merchandise online. I'd love to get my hands on a Nye's bowling shirt.

I have been going to Nye's for over 30 years. My favorite bar. Dana was on the piano the other night and she was great. Super musically and had an edge to her that I liked. Crowd is always enjoyable with mixed ages and a great place to hang out with sociable people. I like the long bar and also the piano bar. Sad to see Nye's is closing.
