I have been to many conferences around the country but recently I went to the Raleigh Convention Center for the first time. The facilities are as good as any I have been to. The front entrance area (inside and out) is very inviting. Also a short walk takes you to a selection of restaurants.

The architecture and interior spaces are pleasing, and there is a lot of artwork by local artists adding to the decor. (Paid) Parking is close and plentiful, and there are two municipal parking decks that are free on nights and weekends if you don't mind a 5-10 minute walk.

The offerings here run the gamut. I enjoy coming to the expos to explore a diverse range of interests. It's convenient to get to and parking is easy. It offers a spacious open environment on many levels with an array of rooms for whatever your needs. The space both inside and out is comfortable to be in and around. The sonewhat iconic statue of Sir Walter Raleigh is quite an attention grabber too. Not only is it in homage to a historic figure who is the Capital City's namesake but it is the perfect place for a thematic display for whatever event is taking place at the convention center. Be it a hall of famer Ray Price's drag bike or a Bluegrass Festival banjo stage - Sir Walter Raleigh makes a perfect backdrop for posing with.
