The RedDot BrewHouse @Dempsey is an old colonial house converted as restaurant. It has indoor and outdoor seating area. Landscaping and the garden arrangements are mind blowing. We visited the place for the department dinner (business dinner). We started with pre- ordered fingerfoods and the tower beers. (We pre-ordered the fingerfoods due to the large size of our group of 25 pax) The food quality and quantity are pretty good. Selection of beers and liquors will make everyone happy. The different coloured- flavoured beers are really nice. Must taste and try the beer varieties. The main courses: there are beef steak varieties, lamb steak, salmon and other seafood varieties for order. Burgers, pork chop, chicken chop pizza, sausage plater etc are also available. Charcoal grill counter is near to the outside seating area and we can see the grilling of beef, lamb etc. Overall an excellent restaurant to visit for the beer lovers and charcoal grilled food lovers.

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother, for whom I made a reservation for 4 at Red Dot I took three of my friends out with me to Red Dot today for dinner and I have to say that the experience was mind numbingly terrible. Granted, we only went there for the food, despite it being a microbrewery first and foremonst as we love Dempsey and thought we would enjoy the ambience and experience. We ordered the homemade crisps and dip platter for starters. They have three choices for the platter and we requested their mixed platter. Instead, they served us the one that only had veggies in it with the two "homemade" dips. One of them was a watery green indistinguishable concoction, supposedly spinach with yogurt. We could neither taste the spinach nor the yogurt. It was completely runny. The second dip was a white dip which looked suspiciously like mayonnaise with dry parmesan powder mixed into it. It was just globs of mayonnaise, their special homemade dip. Secondly, the service is horrendous. The first waitress we dealt with gave us so much attitude when we requested that she take the dish back, as it was inedible, we had to ask for the manager. She also threw her hands up in the air with aggression and demanded that we pay for something which was completely sub par. We asked to talk to the chef which was refused. There was no apology and they made us feel uncomfortable for the rest the of the experience with their blatantly aggressive body language and attitudes. Ultimately, we paid for our drinks, left the restaurant and ate at another restaurant nearby. Needless to say, it was an extremely embarrassing night for me, as it was my birthday treat to my friends and I had recommended the restaurant. What a waste of a lovely setting, spoiled by the food and attitude of the staff. Will not be returning again.
