Suva bread lovers have a new opportunity to explore a wide variety of artisan delights courtesy of the skills of Chef Israel Jason Sta Rosa, who trained at the Center for Culinary Arts of Manila. It has only been operating for a week at its location on Victoria Parade opposite the Suva library and The Olympic swimming pool, but already it's proving a hit when locals. The interior design of the place is state of the art, with modern architecture providing a perfect atmosphere for relaxing and experiencing the taste of fine bread and cookies. For those wanting a hearty meal, there is a variety of sandwich and Filipino inspired dishes. The pure generosity of the chef-owner was most notable as he willingly shared with me bread from our homeland, pandesal the most sought-after breakfast for any Filipino. Something I noticed that was new in Fiji as I entered in the cafe was the presentation what was on offer and the opportunity for the patrons to pick up a tray and make their before processing to the cashier this gives you an opponent to choose what you want and to mix and match between the many pastries and cookies that are produced daily. Honestly, this was the best cookies and pastries experience I have had in Suva. The Bread Factory Cafe will be tough competition for other serving pastries. I can't wait to try their Filipino food, which I have been craving ever since I left home last year.
