I camped out at the Carolina Beach Campgrounds for a 5 weeks while I was in looking for an apartment and I had a wonderful experience while at the campgrounds. While it may not be the most current looking accommodations compared to most modern campgrounds, it has a wonderful 70's feel and nostalgia to it and it reminded me of the good old days when times and people were just better and I was treated as a friend with decency and respect by all of the staff Judy, Josh and the owner Boyd went out of their way to accommodate me and work with me during my transition into a new place to live and I can't thank them enough for the kindness and generosity that they displayed towards me! We were in to visit our son at uncle We were in town to visit our son at UNCW and decided to check out Carolina Beach Family Campground for a future visit. For those considering a visit, please know that those giving negative reviews were not exaggerating. It really is that bad. Broken down cars, old dilapidated campers, the cat lady that lives in her tent was there feeding her many cats...it is difficult to describe how rough this place is. I would not feel safe camping here. All of the five star reviews? Impossible that they are from actual campers. I couldn't see this campground and not warn my fellow campers. Keep looking...you don't want to stay at this one!

Some of the reviews on here are just uncalled for... We decided to stay here anyways after reading the reviews... We loved it and all 3 of our kids loved it!!! Met some really friendly people... If we ever decide to head that way again would live to stay again.. :) was our first family vacation everything went well it was suppose to rain but never did awesome trip and loved the campground.. Kids loved the playground!!
