The wife wanted fried chicken for her birthday dinner so we decided to try out Hard Knox. We had 6 people in our party so we decided to try eating family style. You get 3 meats and sides for $18 or 4 meats and sides for $21 per person. You get a pretty decent amount of food when you go this route. Unfortunately the food is nothing special. The BBQ chicken was dry and fairly tasteless as was the fried chicken. For sides, probably the best item we had was corn on the cob. The Mac and cheese was just ok. About one step above Mac and cheese from a box. Mashed potatoes and gravy, ok. Rice and gravy, ok. Everything was pretty much just ok. Service was good though. In fact when I was going to order a salad for one of my individual sides the waitress told me not to bother. She said that there would be enough salad left over from the family style sides that there would be enough for me and she was right. I really like it when servers are honest with you about portion sizes. So to sum up, service good, food meh.

The service at this place is incredible. I am always greeted very politely. The pretty lady at the bar is extremely attentive and makes sure that I have everything I need. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys excellent fried chicken and waffles. The catfish is also one of my favorites from the menu. Five stars for me.

Everything I had here was delicious!! Mashed potatoes, fried chicken, collard greens, complimentary cornbread, and OJ (moderate pulp, tasted fresh squeezed. Yum). The food does start tasting quite quite salty towards the end. Portions are very generous.

#1, the crew working at Hard Knox. Attentive, polite, accommodating. Wow. #2, blackened catfish, spicy fried chicken, greens, cornbread. Wow.

Best soul food you can find in the city. Fried chicken was crisp and hot. Corn muffins we're on point. And the price of food and drink we're the best you can find in the city. 4.50 for draft, 3.50 per bottle. Fried chicken $15 for three pieces plus two sides and corn muffins! It's a small place so be prepared to wait a while, but the wait is worth it!

The waitress is outstanding. The food on this day was meh. The red beams and rice was a little dry. The beans should be cooked more they were kinda hard. The Mac and cheese was creamy not baked like I was told. The muffins were cold and hard. I've heard the other location is better.
