Very unusual property for the National Trust. Important that you start by one of the tour guides, otherwise you wouldn't really understand what it is about. After the tour, you are then free to look around yourself.

One of the most underappreciated Modernist masterpieces. A staggeringly interesting house with some very unique details, particularly the bathroom's vented skylights and staged workspace areas. The house itself, despite being built in the 1930s could easily be mistaken for something from the mid 1970s, it is that ahead of its time, I recommend that all architectural students visit this as part of their studies. The entire project is also a planning masterstroke inasmuch as the story behind the opposition to the house is essential to understanding how the industry is still far behind architectural thought even to this day. The story of which is told in a rather well fitted mini screening room housed in Goldfinger's old garage at the start of the tour. Highly recommended, an education.
