The wait is long (we waited 1h) but it was so worth it! Great price, great service (free tea), and great sushi. Nice vibe to the interior as well.

Incredible sushi. I haven't been to a better place in San Francisco and perhaps anywhere else on this side of the world. Their menu also contains many interesting appetizers which are also usually excellent. I strongly recommend sitting at the bar if you can and ordering whatever is fresh. The wait staff is usually fine, if hectic, but if you want to really focus on the experience then I think the bar is the best place to be. Yes, wait times tend to be rough. It's worth waiting for, though.

The food was good and the staff were friendly. The big problem is hygiene. We went there on a Saturday during lunch time. One of the servers wiped the floor with napkins and without washing her hands, immediately handed another customer a plate of sushi! She also handed us tea and drinks (without washing her hands). Another server wiped the table and again, without washing his hands, out clean plates on the table. What’s worse, at one point he tossed a dirty rag onto an empty table, with the rag touching the clean plates that were already set up (this occurred at 2:30pm when the restaurant stopped taking orders). A third server put on gloves to take out the trash and without taking her gloves off, refilled soy sauce jars! (Granted she did notice this and took off the gloves, but the gloves were lying on the counter table where people would sit and eat.) This greatly heightens the risk of food poisoning and for that reason we will never go back.
