The CCBB Rio de Janeiro occupies the historic 66st of Rua Primeiro de Março, in the center of the city, a building of neoclassical lines that, in the past, was connected to finance and business. Its foundation stone was launched in 1880, materializing a project of Francisco Joaquim Bethencourt da Silva (1831-1912), architect of the Imperial House, founder of the Society Propagating Fine Arts and the Lyceum of Arts and Crafts.
