This has been a must stop for me on my way to Porto. Every single time, spot on, good service, busy but at the same time chill atmosphere. This is traditional, heavy portuguese food, you will come out of there rolling down the steps. But it’s amazing. Their tomato rice is insane, served until you beg them to stop. Any other traditional things are an extra. The fried fish, cod cakes and other little dishes are great. I believe they renovated the entrance a few years ago, loads of parking space now. If it’s on your way, this place is an amaaaaaazing stop.

And this is why everyone go to Manjar do Marquês: an easy-going, efficient and nice service, with the best typical 'runny tomato rice' and a perfectly fried generous hake fillet. The owner is a wine afficcionado, so great wines by the glass, at bargain prices, are always available. Seat at the counter for the full experience.
