When sat down we were told we needed to leave in two hours’ time but my party and I felt like they wanted us out in 15 minutes. It was a rushed service, I get it is a Saturday night and people want to eat but at least give us time to enjoy the scenery. They may as well have put our food in a to-go bag and kicked us out the door. We ordered entrees and halfway through they asked what we wanted for mains. The waitress came back moments later and proceeded to take our plates away when one of us was still eating. We asked for another bottle of wine with the staff giving us the wrong bottle and didn’t care that they made a mistake. This place is over-hyped and overrated. The food, wine and view was great but the service detracts from all of that.

The interior and the view are great, but that's it. The barmen had no idea which wine we ordered and poured half a glass of white instead of red. When we stopped him, he poured that half of glass back into the bottle. The wine I ordered, he got right, but when there was some wine left in the bottle after pouring me a glass - he poured the rest in the new bottle! I definitely think that paying $20 a glass, the last thing I want is for my wine to be a wild mix of leftovers and whatever else they poured in that bottle. Just really poor, Rockpool.

We were greeted by a maitre d' who seemed vaguely resentful that anyone over 50 would be game to eat there. He showed us to our table and then walked away with none of the usual water business, or offering to pull out a chair for my wife. Yeah, I know it's 2018, but it is still a nice touch. The rest of the service was competent and professional, but with no warmth. Unfortunately, all the dishes tasted the same and were quite edible but nothing special at all. The worst thing was that the two share entrees arrived when we were barely started on a very large guacamole starter. We put the guacamole to one side to concentrate on the entrees and were about half way through these when the main course arrived. Now we had the full meal on the table at once. Very unprofessional place.

Neil Perry should be embarrassed to put his name to this restaurant. Aside from the soup the dishes were very ordinary and expensive for what they were. Not what we expect for the Neil Perry name. Corn chips came with everything and we could only guess they were a good filler. The Margarita was not special so glad we didn't have the $100.00 version. It is very noisy and seems to be enjoyed by city workers drinking lots of cocktails if that is what you are after then it is excellent. The early opening hours seemed good if you are going to an event but the value is not worth it.
