Excellent food and wine until we ordered the cheese board..... it was awful almost spoilt the night. Service very friendly and helpful with advice and pleasantries.

Waiting since 45 minutes for the main dish, have gotten water on my pants like a welcome, can not remember the ordered stuff. Wrong salad , awful tourist trap!

The restaurant is centrally located and does infuse a very nice ambiance to it's visitors. The personnel is very friendly and service is impeccable. However the food isn't tasty at all and the meat used of very low quality. The cocktails as well could have been better and have nothing to remind of those served in bars. Our choices where the ribs and burgers, and the drinks we tried we're margarita, mojito and gin&tonic.

Tonight I took my Mother to your restaurant after having had very positive experiences at other Hippopotamus Restaurants. I speak French, but my Mother does not, so I ordered for us both in French -- two entrées. Neither of us can eat a lot as we have both had stomach surgery. The waitress then asked my Mother what she wanted, thinking the two entrées were for me. She was not happy when I told her that I had ordered for us both. She walked a few feet away and started to rant at another waiter about us, saying how dare we come to a restaurant and order a pathetic entrée. She said that she shouldn't have to waste her time on us when we're not going to make it worth her while. I heard and understood everything. She then went to the bar and made the same complaint to two more staff members. The dish I had ordered, I had previously eaten not a week ago at another Hippo Restaurant. The meal I was served tonight was bitter and full of chilli -- this is not mentioned anywhere on the menu, nor was it in the exact same dish when I had it a week ago. After having stomach surgery, I cannot eat anything spicy, so had to run to the bathroom to throw up. When I returned, the original waitress was standing there smiling and asked if I enjoyed myself. A moment later another waitress walked past her and asked if she was ok. Our waitress told her that all was fine now as she had fixed the problem and had put something extra in our dish. I was horrified! How dare she! She does not know our circumstances and made an unacceptable and rude judgement about us without knowing any facts. When that was said, we paid and left immediately, partially because I was so angry and didn't want to have to explain such disgusting behaviour to my Mother in a restaurant and make a scene, and partially because I had to go outside to be sick again and didn't want the waitress to have the satisfaction of knowing what she had done. I will never ever eat at a Hippopotamus Restaurant again!
