Yaji Mountain

Yaji Mountain is located in northeast Beijing, in Pinggu District. It is located approximately 80 kilometers away from the center of Beijing. The mountain is named Yaji Mountain because it has two giant stones that are very similar to "yaji," a type of hairstyle that girls in ancient China often wore.Yaji Mountain has been a holy place for Taoists since ancient times; there are many ancient Taoist temples on the top of the mountain. The mountain also boasts an impressive array of ancient pines and cypresses, as well as all sorts of giant stones. Also worthy of attention are the several buildings on the top of the mountain, namely Bixia Yuanjun Temple, Yuhuang Pavilion, and Sanhuang Temple.
