Xingtian Temple is a popular Taoist temple located in Tapiei’s Zhongshan District. One distinguishing feature at Xingtian Temple is the prominent use of dragons in the temple design. The temple is dedicated to Guan Yu, a famous general during the Han Dynasty and now considered the patron of businesspeople. Interestingly, in 2014 Xingtian Temple became the first temple to discourage the burning of incense in an effort to be more environmentally friendly. As a well-known and respected Taoist temple, Xingtian Temple plays an important role in Taipei’s spiritual life. For this reason, it is certainly worth a visit.
