A must place to visit. The palace is converted into museum along with great informative audio guide tour. The apartments where the emperor and empress used to live and the silver collection are worth visiting for history lovers.

I went to the Sisi museum and the silver collection and it was the worst museum I've been to in Vienna. It starts with thousands of plates, cups, glasses, silver knifes and gilded candelabra that all differ very little from each other. These kind of dishes produced around 1900 look good set on a table in an authentic room, but are absolutely boring by themselves. If you saw a couple of them you saw them all; and you definitely saw them in movies and even your own dishes emulate the designs. If you go to Kunsthistorisches Museum, there each cup or plate is so full of individuality you can spend hours looking at them. Not to mention Kunst. Museum has a whole floor of masters' paintings. The empirial apartments are also nothing spectacular. And don't go there if you are even mildly claustrophobic. The museum is overcrowded and boring. I would go 5 times to kunsthistorisches museum, for example, before even considering going to Sisi Museum. I apologize for this long rant.

Hofburg is turned into a great museum. The visiting route is very well designed - it should satisfy the ones who get bored quickly as well as the ones who are always hungry for knowledge. The Sisi exhibition is wonderful, I strongly recommend visiting this place!
