This botanic garden was created in the 1920s by French artist Jacques Majorelle, and was later owned by Yves Saint-Laurent. There are 15 species of birds living in the gardens — and the iconic cobalt blue has inspired many interior designers.
Medersa Ben Youssef
This Madrasa (educational institution) is the largest in Morocco. The college was founded in the 14th century and there are over 100 small dormitories for the students that would have studied the Koran here. The courtyard is elaborately carved in cedar wood and marble.
Café Des Épices
Beautiful café with spectacular view over the place d'epice which makes it fun to watch people go about their business while eating delicious sandwiches.
Jemaa el-Fnaa
Such a great friendly market. Quite busy, but beautiful. There are lots of little stalls to get fresh juice or hot snacks. Also lovely little gift shops with cute souvenirs, and the beautiful Koutoubia Mosque is right there.
Bahia Palace / Palais de la Bahia
Fascinating place but invest in a guide if you can't speak French as there isn't much signage in English. A guide definitely brings the place to life as they explain the purpose of each of the rooms and the history of the city.
