Tour The Barcelona Off The Beaten Path
D 1
  • Parc del Laberint d'Horta

Nice park a bit outside of the main city featuring gardens and a shrubbery labyrinth. A good place to take a break from the hustle and bustle and relax in a park built as part of an 18th century estate. The labyrinth is fun and at least a little challenging. The property is laid back and relaxing compared to most of the other more touristy areas of Barcelona. Definitely worth a visit!
  • Monasterio de Pedralbes / Monestir de Pedralbes /Monastery of Pedralbes

This impressive monastery from the early 14th century is truly one of a kind, and a perfect example of Catalan Gothic architecture. Today the building functions as a museum that contains both a church and the monastery, where you can see first-hand what the everyday life of nuns was like. The beauty of this monastery makes this a great place to visit for anyone who enjoys history.
  • Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau

Gorgeous place. What they did have open for viewing was absolutely beautiful. I have never seen a more decorated Art Nouveau site. If you are an architecture buff and want to get away from all the Gaudi madness, do come here!
  • Palace of Catalan Music

The concerts in the Palau are unique. Its like time travel into the last century. Exquisite performances have to be expected. Sometimes for festivities you might be lucky to get free entrance. Its a mindbogglingly modernist architecture. Well worth the tour they offer, even if its not cheap. Expensive coffee in the interior restaurant is also worth every dime. It's just so beautifully decorated. Normally quiet place to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere.
  • Nova Mar Bella Beach

Kayaking, paddle boarding, kite surfing ... this beach is a must for everyone who likes water sports, as well as for those who enjoy a relaxing stroll or a quiet day on the beach. This beach is a little further out from the city center, and you will soon notice the difference with its relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
