  • Leblon Beach / Praia Leblon

    Located just below the Dois Irmaos Peak, this is the perfect place to relax after a hike or hard-day’s sight-seeing. It is a continuation of the more famous Ipanema beach and therefore less frequented by tourists. The water is also clearer here.
  • Rodrigo de Freitas Lake / Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon

    Off the beaten tourist track, this picturesque lake is surrounded by a 3-mile boardwalk and cycle lane, and is popular with the locals. If you are not a beach person, this is the perfect place to enjoy the water.
  • Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden / Jardim Botânico

    Rio´s biodiversity can be appreciated at this gorgeous and historic green area. Just leave the beach aside for an afternoon and enjoy of the the city´s most peaceful places.
  • Sugarloaf Mountain

    This peak offers spectacular bird’s eye views over the city and is one of the country’s most famous natural landmarks. A great place to head for sunset to watch the city light up.

  • Parque Lage

    Awesome park with fascinating history and well kept fauna. Very friendly staff. Awesome views of Christ De Redeemer. Take a walk around it and decide if you want to take the 2-3 hour trail up to Christo.
  • Praia do Leme

    Less famous than Copacabana, Leme is actually just a continuation of the same stretch of beach. In general it is quieter than Copacabana and has its own fort looking down on it. A perfect place to relax.
  • Santa Teresa

    The artsy and bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa is full of narrow winding streets, beautiful mansion houses and boutique shops. Off the main tourist trail, you will be able to get a feel for the community spirit here that makes Rio special.
  • Escadaria Selaron / Selarón Steps

    Steps as a piece of art. Made from tiles of everywhere in the world, it's totally worth the visit when hanging out around lapa.
  • Pedra do Sal

    You want to experience real authentic live samba in the streets of Rio de Janeiro? If the answer is yes, you must go here, and try to squeeze yourself to the center of the band, or get a view from the top of one of the two hills that surround this sweaty samba public space.

    Maracana Stadium was the place of very important events such as World Cups soccer matches/finals , Olympic Games Events and concerts. It is a place that you should visit if you love soccer!!
  • Museum of Tomorrow / Museu do Amanhã

    There are a lot of interesting expositions about science and did not have the time to see and read everything. It makes us think about the future.
  • CCBB - Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil

    Not only an amazing place to visit, as a local or tourist, but also the venue of some of the best exhibitions in the city. Not to be missed.
  • Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer

    One of the Seven Wonders of the World. How can you not be in awe?! This sight was remarkable and breathtaking up close. Regardless of religious beliefs, you will appreciate this experience. Make sure you've packed your patience, as the crowds can be overbearing and lines long - all well worth it. The scenic views surrounding Christ the Redeemer offered offered nice photo opportunities.
